The audio update

  • Added Butterchurn and Warp Visualizer as live wallpapers and screensavers, with independent settings for each display and optional reaction to system audio.
  • Butterchurn includes 395 MilkDrop presets, with shuffle, fixed-preset selection, adjustable transitions, and support for importing compatible preset collections.
  • Warp Visualizer brings flowing visuals based on Geiss HDR by Ryan Geiss, with adjustable motion, brightness, and automatic HDR on compatible displays and renderers.
  • Audio reaction requires macOS 14.2 or later and system-audio recording permission. Visuals continue without audio when capture is unavailable.
  • Warp Visualizer requires WebGPU support in the system WebKit.

Fixes and improvements

  • Refreshed icons across Settings and menus, with larger display numbers that are easier to read.
  • Screensaver shortcut recording now previews held modifier keys and explains how to complete a valid combination, for both all-displays and per-display shortcuts.
  • Custom menu icons now stay up to date when apps, files, folders, or website icons change.
  • Fixed issues that could reopen the menu bar menu or prevent LumoTray from quitting.

  • Added a Wallpaper menu with next-image or refresh actions and pause/resume controls for each display or all displays in supported image modes.

  • Fixed Matrix wallpapers sometimes timing out at startup when a display is asleep or the new renderer is still hidden.
  • Closing Settings with Command-Q or choosing Quit from its temporary Dock icon now keeps LumoTray running in the menu bar. Use Quit from the LumoTray status menu to exit the app completely.

  • Added a Wallpaper tray menu with per-display and All Displays controls to pause or resume automatic wallpaper changes and switch or refresh immediately.
